When you awaken each morning in your Erwin Home apartment, you greet each day unfettered by worries and fully prepared to live life to its fullest.

Several times a year the residents gather for a party to celebrate birthdays or other special events.

In fine weather there are cookouts and once a year in December, the Board of Managers provides a fully catered sit-down meal for the residents.Outside sitting area at the Erwin Home

In good weather, a walk through the impeccably landscaped grounds reveals an ever-changing myriad of sights – birds, animals and a variety of ornamental plantings that include a Copper Beach tree and a rare Ginko tree that date back nearly to the opening of the Erwin Home.

For community activities, there’s simply no telling what a knock at the door or a quick check of the Erwin Home’s bulletin board will reveal.  There are frequent card and bingo parties, and a dedicated “Prayer room” and “sewing room”.

Frequently, residents will pile into the Erwin Home’s mini bus for a trip to concerts, museums special events and interesting destinations.  If it’s Thursday, the van will take residents grocery shopping, if they wish.

If you are in a mood for solitude, you can curl up with a good book in the privacy of your own apartment, or in an overstuffed sofa in a corner of the Cooper Living Room.  A large screen TV sits in the Cooper Room and can be used to view TV shows or movies.

The Erwin Home is frequently filled with residents’ friends and family, and the Cooper Room can be reserved for special events through the office.  There is also one (1) guest apartment within the Erwin Home where a female out of state guest  may stay overnight for just a nominal charge.
